Before directly jumping on the answer, I would like to quote Aristotle here who said a very strange thing about the peoples of tropics. He said that "The climate in temperate region is more cool and adorable hence the people living here are more intelligent, smart, adventurous, fearless and active while the people living in tropics are fearful, less intelligent and lazy and thus slavery is their destiny". Following are the characteristics of people in the tropical region.
1. Tropical regions have harsh climate conditions i.e. mainly extreme temperatures. The people here are mostly affected by climate change
2. This region experiences heavy rainfalls and thus worm attack and infectious diseases or pests etc are common here due to humidity and thus most of the diseases come from here.
3. They are the most affected people by climate change. according to a report by International Labour Organisation, about 90 million people will loose jobs by 2030 because of climate change of which about 80% are living in tropics.
4. These people are mainly living in developing countries and suffering from the current challenges of poverty, malnutrition, deteriorating health status etc.
5. Apart from this, they also have less technological advancement.
6. since this region receives maximum insolation, people have darker skin in this region.
7. Monsoon climate is observed here due to shifting of pressure belts which is the reason for different agricultural patterns of these people.
I hope the answer is clear to you, in case you have any query, please leave a comment, we will try our best to fix it. If you are satisfied with the answer, leave a thumbs up, your support is valuable. Thank You
what are the unique characteristics of human populations in tropical climates?
Which of the following is NOT a reason that tropical climates harbor more species richness? more solar energy to support primary production tropical communities are older due to no ice ages more competitive coexistence all of these favor species richness in tropical climates A species mimics the appearance of a species that has a defense the mimic lacks. This is an example of _______________ mimicry. Mullerian Dohertian Batesian Darwinian Predator-prey oscillations indicate the size of Canadian lynx populations is largely...
1. What are the unique characteristics in the model of an ionization or dissociation reaction? 2. What are the unique characteristics in the model of a precipitation reaction? 3. What are the unique characteristics in the model of an acid-base reaction? 4. What are the unique characteristics in the model of an oxidation-reduction reaction?
Why are tropical moist forests often less suited for agriculture and human occupation than tropical decidous forests
Tropical wet climates have low humidity. have a diurnal temperature range that often exceeds the annual temperature range. have relatively little vegetative diversity. do not vary in monthly precipitation by more than 10 percent.
Imagine that you are studying two populations of tropical lizards that inhabit areas where high-quality food items are distributed patchily, and that it takes appreciable time to travel from patch to patch, across wide-open areas. Lizard population A inhabits an area with high predation risk, while population B inhabits an area with low predation risk. How might you expect foraging patterns to differ between these two populations, with respect to group size and the time spent in a given patch?...
What is a good marketing strategy for Southwest Airlines that addresses the unique dimensions and characteristics of their services?
What are the characteristics of and differences between mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and Y-Chromosome DNA? What do each tell us about the origins and dispersal of modern human populations?
Anthropology 111 - Human Biological Evolution Lab (Modern Human Variation) 1. In what populations do we see the high frequencies (above 80%) of the allele associated with lighter pigmentation? Japanese Indonesian Italian Chinese Mongolian India African German Bangladesh Turkish French 2. Why might some light-skinned populations, such as the Japanese, be missing F374 allele? a. There have been multiple, different mutations that have produced light skin in different populations b. This allele does not cause depigmentation c. Some populations, such...
How do we know what past climates were like? What techniques are used to learn about the past climates and environments? Are global warming and the greenhouse effectthe same thing? EXPLAIN the reasoning. Are human activities responsible for the changing climate? If so how and how much responsibility do we have? Is there anything we can do about changing climate, if so what? Has climate changed in the geologocal past, before humans ever came on the scene? If so, how...
(Genetics problem)
Which of these are
correct?
What evidence supports the statement that human populations around the world share allelic variation? O Most human SNPs are alleles that are private to a population. Most human SNPs provide information on ancestry. O Most human SNPs are able to be sampled on more than one continent. Most human SNPs represent a sampling of the genetic variation in Africa.
