Number of peaks can be calculated by using formula

2nI + 1

Where I is the integral spin for H value of I is 1/2

And n is the number of neighbouring proton

In 2 -methyl propane

There are 9 neighbouring proton of CH

So the no. Of peaks will be

2*9*1/2 + 1

i.e. 9+1 = 10
