Discuss the role children have in their own development and how development in different domains is connected. Give a specific example of each.

Answer- It is a well-known fact that external factors play an important role in influencing a child's development, but it is also true that a child plays a crucial role in his/her development too. Growing up, children are responsible for selecting the type of environmental influences that they are exposed to. Even infants make their own decisions by deciding what to do and where to look and how to orient themselves. The type of friends a child chooses and the interests that a child expresses, is hugely impactful on what and how he/she is going to develop. For example- While growing up, some children show interest in playing with action figures and video games while some show interest in playing outdoor sports activities.
