The main function of ID is to act directly based on the urge of mind and body to obtain pleasure. The theory of pleasure is closely connected to the functioning of ID. Super ego is the one which helps Henry to take the wise decision. This is because Henry well knows the distinction between gold and bad and consequence of all actions due to well developed Super Ego. It is the proper interaction between ID and Super ego within Henry which helped him to select a decision against his impulsive nature as he is well aware that constant gambling can lead to ultimate loss of all his money and wealth.
