Answer:

Carter’s Inc : Carter’ is a North American business engaged in the manufacturing and selling the apparel cloth products mainly for babies and young children. It is headquartered @ Atlanta, Georgia.

Description of where their product is manufactured/produced: the manufacturing of the apparel products are generally planned where they can easily get the material and man power/labor so that the manufacturing cost for the business will be lower and they can generate larger profits for their business. Thus most of the manufacturers plans to et up the manufacturing setups such that they got cots benefits in terms of labor availability and raw material availabilities and other facilities or resources like eay convenience, common location, large industrial region, cheap land, government subsidies etc. Similarly Carter Inc has also set up manufacturing locations such that they can get the benefits in terms of raw material, labor, and government subsidies and can make their products at the best lowest possible costing and generate highest possible profits for their organization.

Thinking about whether that makes entering a particular country near the country of production more efficient from a supply chain standpoint. Yes, we do have agreement for this statement that it will help to enter in the nearby country for the production location and it will result in more efficient manner than the country which is located at long distance. Though supply chain are string enough and we do not face many issue in longer location dispatches/transportation but still if we get the country near to the production set up/ plant, than it will be more efficient and effective from the supply chain point of view and we will have lower cost for the supply chain point of view.

If we are trying to enter in the nearby country, than it will help us in reducing the supply chain cost, timeline and we can deliver the product on low lead time and can deliver better flexibility for the business changes and fluctuations.
