Answer #1

When the location is different, the geographical characteristics are different. Characteristics of the people become different too. There are different cultures, different behaviours, customs, traditions etc. When research is done on a specific location, the researcher should ensure that the findings are a result of the research question and not due to geographical characteristics. This ensures the validity, reliability and replicability of the study. When this is taken care, the results can be generalised to other populations as well.

In certain cases, when the research question is specific to a location such as Africa, then it would not be possible to generalize the findings across cultures.
