Answer #1

In this aspect, we are kind of similar to ancient Chinese culture. Chinese people have great reverence towards their ancestors. They do small offerings throughout the year in their remembrance. This improves kinship, lineage remembrance, family loyalty etc.

We have a similar attitude towards them. Only the good about the ancestors are passed down the generations. Every year, on a particular lunar day, we pray for our ancestors, distribute food and money to poor people. This is done, as a part of cultural practices and to exhibit our loyalty and kinship towards our ancestors.

I think, every culture has some practices being carried out, either as a remembrance of their ancestors or as a tribute or love towards them. This keeps the family ties healthy and going.
