Physics 2

A standard D cell battery can supply 25 mA at 1.5 V for about 300 hours, and its internal resistance is about 1 Ω. A lift is powered by a battery such that it is 50% efficient and is being used to lift a 60-kg object that is initially on the ground. When the winch is set to a very slow speed, the load resistance is much greater than the internal resistance of the battery. The greatest speed of the lift is limited by the maximum power supplied by the battery. How high can the object be lifted before the battery uses all of its energy? What are the maximum speed of the object while being lifted and and the minimum time required for the lift? Assume the battery capacity (product of current and time) is independent of the discharge rate (which is not true for real batteries)

good explanations on each step, thanks!

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
