Answer #1

As a Hiring Manager after giving advertisement in the entry-level position on several websites, I received more than 200 responses, In the cover letter I would like to look into the following factors:

The cover letter checklist should have the following:

  • The cover letter should be personalized and should address to the specific person.
  • It should be customized for the particular company in which they are interested in.
  • It should be completely focusing on the companies unique goals and in what way they can help in achieving the goals.
  • It should be compelling to read because it is focused on them not on me.
  • Sharing of information is also very important.

At the same time they also have to maintain a master piece like (AIDA):

  • A-grab the Attention
  • I- spark the interest
  • D- it should create desire
  • A- invite the company to take an action

What would be the most important factor in deciding which candidates to interview?

As a hiring manager I would decide on a candidate during the interview time when they have the following qualities:

  • rather than experience the most important thing is their accomplishments. How they have achieved their task is what matters.
  • I will look for the evidence that the candidate have taken on the difficult challenges and how he/she had over come the obstacles in the past.
  • Make a record of the specific evidence which the candidate have shared regarding their success.
  • Attitude is also another factor which the person should have
  • Ethical values should be tested
  • their motivation levels should be identified
  • the screening process should be realistic
  • take time to evaluate the person by taking the past experiences
