For preparation of Cp*ZrMe3 material used are ZrCl4 undergoes reaction with Cp*-H to form Cp*-ZrCl3 which further reacts with Mg to form grignards reagent and undergoes grignard reaction with methylating agent to form Cp*ZrMe3.
