What leadership theory did you learn about in this course that you will attempt to utilize in the future...either to utilize yourself as a leader or as a means of evaluating the performance of another leader? please elaborate
There are various leadership style like Transformational, Charismatic, Contigency, Situational and Authentic leader.
Most of the other leadership has been well talked about in business journals, classes, seminars. Here we would like to elaborate the authentic leadership style which is genuine and hence appealing.
The authentic leadership action wheel and the six features:
Meaning: Guiding Values and Principles
Mission:Goals, Objectives and desires
Power: Energy, motivation and control
Structure: System, policies and procedures
Resources: People, capital, equipment, information and time
Existence: History and identity
Fulfillment is the promise of Authentic Leadership.
Authentic leadership characteristic - Self-efficacy, Optimistic, Trust-worthy, Ethical, Selfless, Self-aware
Cores of AU: Genuine, self aware, mission driven, focused on results, lead by heart, long term goal oriented
Authentic Leaders believe in: Hardwork+Patience+Planning = Long term payoff
We may utilize the core belief system of Authentic leadership in our work environment, which shall surely yield positive result in long run and will enable fulfillment and organisation's progress at the same time. Here are the take-aways:
Higher self-esteem, more positive effect, hope for future, desire for positive relationship, sense of purpose, positive impact on organisational behaviour and improved performance at individual, group and organisational levels.
