Since iron has low reduction potential than hydrogen so it will be oxidized and the half reaction of iron will be called the oxidation half and the one having hydrogen will be the reduction half.

The complete equation is given below

Fe(s) + 2H+ Fe2+ + H2 (g)

We know, E◦cell = E◦ reduction - E◦ oxidation

E◦cell = 0.000 - (-0.447) = 0.447 V
