Identify the false statement regarding regression

1 the intercept is the expected value of y when all the x values are zero

2. has one or more dependent variable in the equation

3.it can be used to describe the relationship between variables

4 it can be used to predict the value of y given a value for each of the x-variables

Answer #1

2) Has one or more dependent variable in the equation.

Among all, this statement is false as regression equation has only one dependent variable that is Y axis. The equation is as follows -

Y = a+bX.

whereas, X is independent variable and a is intercept and b is the slope. When X value is zero then the value of b(intercept) is the value of Y. It describes the relationship between outcome variable and confounding variable.

Hope this helps :)
