Solution:
1) Unions:-
Labor unions always act as a mediator between the labor union members and the employers or business. Companies seek help from labor unions so to better manage the employees. Unions, in return, understand the needs of employers in the competitive market. On the other hand, the labor union also protects the rights of workers and helps them to get more benefits.
Purpose -
The purpose of a labor union is to provide employees the power and authority to negotiate with their employers through collective bargaining. Bargaining mostly includes increasing wages, improving the employees' working conditions, demanding certain benefits, etc.
2) Ways unions changed our lives:-
With power, unions have changed our lives quite a lot. Labor unions helped us to get weekend offs and that too with shorter weekdays work. This helps us to take care of our family and also spend some time with them. Unions play a great role in the child labor act. Now, most of the companies follow the 8-hours a day work rule rather than 12-14 hours a day due to the protest from union members. Employees feel a lot safer and secure in the workplace.
3) Labor unions in America:-
Employees in America still need labor unions to solve their issues with their employers. Like every other country, U.S. labor unions too represent their members when it comes to bargain, dispute, etc. But in the U.S. most of the labor unions are under larger union organizations such as AFL-CIO. From the last few years, labor union membership has gradually fallen and it can be seen more in private sectors. In the U.S., most of the labor unions form in the government sector as employees get more satisfied in private sector jobs.
Hope this helps :)
