The scores from the Job Descriptive Index Questionnaire revealed that I satisfied with my coworkers, job in general, and work on present job. However my satisfaction with pay, opportunities for promotions and supervision is low. Overall these results are not surprising. I have worked with my coworkers for the past eleven years and it is like working with my family. The work I do gives me a sense of purpose. On a daily basis I am working with people who are at their lowest, in a financial sense. They are losing their house or their car and they think they have no options. I am able to give them a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. I know I am satisfied in the work that I do daily. As for my lower facets satisfaction with pay, opportunities for promotions and supervision, these areas are what helped make my decision to further my education. All three of these facets have caused my dissatisfaction with my current employer for years. While I love what I do I feel overworked due to be understaffed. While the credit union loan growth has been tremendous that comes with equal growth in delinquency. However, the executive management doesn’t want to recognize the problems. They are also dismissive when I try to address this problem and other problems within collections. If the credit union wanted to improve my satisfaction they could hire more staff and expand the department. Ideally, this expansion would include a promotion for myself so that I could oversee the entire department. I would be able to work on other projects within the department to help us continue to grow. I would also like for them to be more willing to listen to me when I come to them with concerns within the collection area. I am the one who is on the ground with the issues therefore I should be the one in the room helping develop the solution for the issues.

Answer #1

This is the case of clear communication gap between the higher management and the people working on the shop floor. This is a very common issue prevalent in most of the organization. The major reason is the too much of hierarchical distance between the top management and the mid- level manager, where top management becomes totally unaware of the basic needs and motivational needs of the ground work force. It could either come from lack of empathy or lack of sensitivity.

It’s very pertinent that top management has a direct communication with ground staff team and understand their basic needs and bring in motivational aspects to increase the productivity.

This is why your employees are leaving As another resignation letter is slid across your desk, you can’t help but wonder if this is becoming an epidemic. Employees leave; people move on. This is an aspect of business that managers should anticipate. People have their own lives outside of the walls of your building, and sometimes those lives will pull them in multiple directions, leading them away. Yet if workers seem to be moving on in their droves, you may...
