Why is it that a 2-liter bottle, when filled with hot water then emptied and closed immediately, shrinks in size in terms of the Ideal Gas Law. Explain in terms of kinetic theory of gases what you observe. Discuss pressure, temperature, and how the ideal gas law is manifested in these events.

As we close the bottle immediately the hit water vapour will be remaining inside bottle which will be striking to the wall of bottle and looses energy in form of heat slowly . As we know

PV= nRT

P is constant and T decreases so V also will decrease . So as volume decrease bottle will shrink .
