Answer #1

In the movie, Silence of the Lambs, what psychological disorder does Hannibal Lecter show and in which scenes?

  1. In the first film, Hannibal displays signs of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) owing to the murder of his parents and sister. Both of which are trauma. This is the first instance of a psychological disorder.
  2. He displays narcissism or narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), something that he displays when he gains power and feels entitled to things. He is into manipulation and lies when it suits him. He gets Clarice to talk about the childhood memories that are painful to her.
  3. He also has Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD). He is brutal and fearless in his crimes and takes pride in them. He bit the cheek of one guard and hung the other one, continued to dance for classical music as if nothing happened.
