The problems occurs or rises when self comes with Identity because it is very difficult that there would be no influence on your identity. There is no self identity ,which we can say is true because of its universality and we can see the influence on everyone's identity because we can experience or observe that everyones trait or the personality changes with age. Therefore we can not strongly or with full conviction say that identity is the core of self and it is independent of how world sees us.
There are examples ,from which we can say that it would difficult to remake any given prison into someone with new identity but not entirely impossible.
