Why is cyclohexanol more acidic than cyclohexanone? Include
diagrams to explain if they are relevant.
A compound is said to be acidic when it releases hydrogen ion(H+). Cyclohexanol contains a hydrogen attached to an oxygen. This hydrogen is easily released because the left negative charge on oxygen is stabilised due to its high electronegativity.
In cyclohexanone, no such hydrogen is present and thus it is not acidic.

2.2 Nitromethane (CH3NO2, pka = 10) is more acidic than most organic acids. Explain why nitromethane is so much more acidic than ethane (pka = 60). Write the chemical equations to illustrate the acidity of the compounds. Include valid Lewis dot structures (including formal charge) and resonance structures, if relevant. (6)
Please write clearly and no cursive THANKS In Lesson Five you've learned the basics of probability theory and how to calculate probabilities of outcomes in various circumstances. Please show ALL work, not just the answers. Please type them or very clearly print them, not cursive handwriting as some are hard to read. Thank you. EX. 4-2 The following information relates to Hudson City for its fiscal year ended December 31, 2017. During the year, retailers in the city collected $1,700,000 in sales taxes owed to the city. As of December 31, retailers have remitted $1,100,000. $200,000 is expected in January 2018, and the remaining $400,000 is expected...
