You are in a cathedral with an organ. Each of the organs pipes can be considered an acoustic resonance in cylinder with ONE OPEN AND ONE CLOSED end. After pressing a key, one of the pipes begins to resonate and you hear the pipes FUNDAMENTAL is middle c, with frequency = 262 Hz. The ambient air temperature in the cathedral is 20 degrees C.

A.) What is the length of the resonating organ pipe?

B.) its very cold outside and someone forgot to close the windows of the cathedral overnight, reducing the ambient air temperature to 5 degree C. If you resonate the same pipe from part a, will it still emit sound with the same fundamental frequency? If not, find the new fundamnental frequency of the pipe.

Part A: A certain organ pipe, open at both ends, produces a fundamental frequency of 300 Hz in air. If the pipe is filled with helium at the same temperature, what fundamental frequency fHe will it produce? Take the molar mass of air to be 28.8 g/mol and the molar mass of helium to be 4.00 g/mol. I calculated this correctly to be 879 Hz, but I am not sure about the next part. Now consider a pipe that is...
