What is a mainframe and why would any business want one? I mean, if you re building airplanes, then maybe yes. But suppose that you are just a big food supplier?
The mainframe is the computer or servers that are generally made
in use by the big industries or tech companies.
These can be used for storing and maintaining the large scale data
that is used for the critical applications.
This word came from the cabinets which were used for holding the
big-big old computers but nowadays they are just used by commercial
computers which are actually big in size these days.
Mainframes are used by the organizations or industries that
generate a lot of data that require processing.
In the case of big food, the supplier mainframe can also be used to
store all the customer's information as well as that of all the
suppliers from which it is linked.
We can use the previously generated data and apply machine learning
on top of it, for this purpose we may need high processing power as
well that can be provided by these mainframes.
Friend, That was
a nice question to answer
