source : It can be UV ray, visible ray or Infrared ray

UV: It is obtained by heating filament which is filled with hydrogen or deuterium.

Visible: Incadascent lamp with tungsten filament

Monochromator: To obtain radiation of one wavelength

eg: prism,diffraction gratings

Detector: photocell or thermocouple
