1. Some raindrops fall from a height of l km. How fast would you expect them to be moving when they hit the ground? How fast is this in miles per hour? Does this agree with your experience?

In the same spirit, the geatest height for a free jump into an airbag occurred by studntman Dan Koko in 1948. He fell 99.4 m, and hit an airbag while travelling at the speed of 88 mph. How fast would you have expected him to be moving using our kinematic equations?

2 .Superman is supposed to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Suppose that he obeys the normal laws of physics in this feat. Estimate how fast he should be moving when he leaves the ground so that he just clears the top of Disque Hall (A building). How good is your estimate?   How did you get your estimate of the height of Disque?
