weight = mg = (V*rho)*g

here,

m = mass

V = volume

rho = density

g = 9.81 m/s^2

since,

density of ice is less than of water.hence ice floats on water.

*reason why ice is less denser :

in liquid state, water molecules are closely held togather by weak hydrogen bond.

in solid state, molecules becomes stable and arranged far from each other. This causes ice to be less denser and hence floats on water.
