The answer is no.
Recording a larger supply adjustment compared to what is leftover would amount to manipulation of the accounting records.
Whatever the purpose may be, even if it is for charity, manipulating accounting records and not recoding correct adjustments is an unethical, illegal, and fraudulent activity. So, one should not indulge in such acts.
Books will not show the real picture of how much office supplies are consumed and it is not prudent to show surplus adjustment so that it can be used for NPO (Nonprofit organization). Also, this will result in showing less income.
This will have an effect on books of the company as excess expenses will be booked in the name of office supplies and the company will get extra deductions which will result in tax evasion.
Someone will do as maintaining such data might help the nonprofit organization in the usage of extra supplies. Doing so might help the organization using the supplies which are lying excess with the organization although the supplies lying in excess can then be carefully administered to manage the current situation of the leftover supplies for the new order. Which might result in more efficient management and thus help the company generate better profit and then help the non-profit organization in better ways.
This change might affect the efficient usage of supplies. It might help the nonprofit organization in reducing its losses but this can be done in other ways as well. This will also misrepresent the expenses made by the organization over the supplies for nonprofitable organizations.
