Answer #1

Pie Chart or Circular Chart

A pie chart (or a circle chart) is a circular statistical graphic, which is divided into slices to illustrate numerical proportion. In a pie chart, the arc length of each slice (and consequently its central angle and area), is proportional to the quantity it represents. While it is named for its resemblance to a pie which has been sliced, there are variations on the way it can be presented.

  2. Add Labels
  3. Legend

In MS Excel

Adding the data labels to a Pie chart is simple.

Right-click on any of the slices and then click on Add Data Labels.

Here are the steps to format the data label from the Design tab:

  1. Select the chart. This will make the Design tab available in the ribbon.
  2. In the Design tab, click on the Add Chart Element (it’s in the Chart Layouts group).
  3. Hover the cursor on the Data Labels option.
  4. Select any formatting option from the list.

****More data label formatting options become available when you right-click on any of the data labels and click on ‘Format Data Labels.

You can keep your graphs inside the worksheet itself (inserted) or on an standalone independent worksheet (called a chart sheet).

Embedded Chart - This will create the chart as an embedded object in the drawing layer of the worksheet.
Chart Sheet - This will create a chart on an additional sheet within the workbook.
