You can use Multimeter. It is an electronic device used to measure electric parameters such as voltage, current, resistance and others.

Procedure:

Multimeter will have many symbols and and indications on it.
First insert the red colour probe into the port indicated with 'mAV'
And insert the black colour probe into the port indicated with 'COM'.
And set the Multimeter knob to 20V on the DC side it's symbol is given in diagram.
Touch the other side of the red colour probe to positive terminal of battery.
And black colour probe to negative terminal of the battery.
Then you can observe the voltage on LED display of Multimeter.
Please do the above steps with care because you're working with electricity. Be safe.
