HTML5 Semantic Elements: Semantic elements are nothing but elements with a meaning. Semantic element describes its meaning not only to the browser but also to  the developer.

Examples of semantic elements are <form>,<table> , <article> etc , these all clearly defines what type content that element has.

Examples of Non semantic elements are <div>,<span> here with this element names we cant understand what type data it has.

HTML5 has some new semantic elements which defines what type content available. Some of them are here:

  • <time>
  • <article>
  • <aside>
  • <figcaption>
  • <figure>
  • <footer>
  • <header>
  • <details>
  • <main>
  • <mark>
  • <nav>
  • <section>
  • <summary>

Well these are all used when we need to input some data to a web page like summary , navigation, details, footer, header, time, articles like that .

UX means User Experience. UX is design used in business to improve the satisfaction of users/ Customers. UX includes all types of the end users interaction with company, service and its products like that.

How it relates to webpages?

Yes, it relates webpages and tries to fulfil needs of customers. It aim is to provide best experience of the website. UX can be described as architecture which means planning to built. What I mean to say is UX is all about user and website are also about users. Making users satisfied is the aim of a web designer. And UX is used to satisfy a user. So UX is very important to a web designer. Now a days all web designers are also shifting to UX because of this reason. One more thing UX is different for everyone. Dont guess that you know what they need.

Some Methods of UX process:

User Profiles and Personas: The 1st step is to know your audience. This will helps you to develop best UX. To begin with this , you need to create user personas(raw representation of your customer on market based research). Some of common things you need to consider is Demographics(age, location, etc),Motivations(fear, power), Personlity(introvert, creative) and many information about user if you can.

Interface testing: When we implementing a interface we have to collect data , the more we collect, the more we better. We have to compare different user interfaces to get the apt one. There is source to test interface that is Google Optimize platform. With this we can split website into parts and check which one performing best and other parts will get some adjustments.

Wireframes and prototypes: Wireframes are used commonly to lay out content and functionality of a webpage. The styles/ visuals of a page matters just like site structure, so we have to spend a lot of time to create wireframes. With wireframes we can eliminate usability issues before it loads on a computer screen. Once a page layout is ready then we have to make some interactive prototype that how it looks on live. Then its easy to go to next level.

Design patterns: Patterns are nothing but which provides consistency and way to find most effective design for the website. There is tools which helps us to maintain UX consistency is style tiles. Style tiles will ensure a user that he will have smooth experience across entire site.

That's it ...
