Basically ethnomusicology means the study of music of different cultures. Break the word into two ethno or ethnic means the culture and musicology meaning the study of music. So the study of music of different cultures.

Studying music of different cultures knowing from where it started, the origin, history, the folklore associated with it, the language and the theory and concept behind that music.
