Answer #1

introduction:

By the term network, we suggest a set of interconnection of active or passive elements like Resistor, Capacitor or Voltage sources which is performing specific or assigned function. Port suggests, a pair of terminals through which a current may enter or leave the network. Depending upon the number of ports present in a circuit, the classification of the network is done. For example, when we have a single port in our circuit, it is called 1-port Network. Similarly, when we have two ports in our circuit (One as input another as output), it is called 2-port Network.

Conclusion:

In Two-port Network we give input to one port and extract output from the other port. Any two terminal is called as a port only when entering current from one terminal is equal to the current drawing out from the other terminal. A two-port network is generally used as a bridge between two one-port networks. Usually, the first one port network is chosen as a power supply and the second one port network is chosen as load (refer to the figure below). The two-port networks act as signal conditioning circuits like amplifiers or filters. Power supplied in the input port is equal to the summation of power leaving from the output port and power consumed by the two-port network.
