General Assessment Criteria:
Scenario:
You are a regular at one of the five star hotels in the UAE. You have been a loyal customer for over a decade now. All your trips, meetings, parties and conferences are held by this hotel. Last week, you arranged one of the biggest business meetings ever of your career at this hotel, but the service provided to your guests was not what you expected. Some of the issues were (a) waiters vs. guest ratio, (b) punctuality of the hotel staff, (c) misjudgment of the menu ordered, (d) valet parking and limousine service and (e) mistakes made in delivering the right laundry to the right room.
III. Task 3: 250 words to 350 words (25 Marks)
For the same meeting, make an agenda. Include all that is relevant. Use any format you know of. Include all the ingredients of an agenda. (Tip: Be Creative!)
There lacunae in the service rendered during the business meeting which was the biggest and thus most prestigious in your career. As for the communication mistakes- There was a misjudgement of the menu ordered and there were mistakes in delivering the right laundary to the right room. This showed how inefficient the staff is. It lacked conciseness and consideration as the hotel staff was never available in time. Also, adequate staff was not available, though the number of guests had been informed before. There lacked clarity in terms of work and efficiency. The mistake in delivering laundries is an example of this. Also, the valet parking and limousine service were lacking. Thus, correct and required service was not obtained. It must be understood that this is not the first business meet held in the hotel. Infact, you have conducted several trips, parties, meetings and conferences in the hotel. Thus have been a loyal and long time customer. It should have been the hotel's responsibility to understand and oblige your loyalty towards the hotel. Your success will lead to their own benefit as you would render them more and more business. The relation ship is based on mutual understanding of mutual benefits. This is key to successful partnering.
