Answer #1

If I was the HR Manager in charge of the selection process for the role of ‘Accounts Assistant’ I would start the screening process by analyzing each C.V to see if they possessed the required skills, education needed for the role in question. Once I had chosen my selection of potential candidates I would organize interviews so I could assess each person individually. It would also give the candidate a good opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the company and the role. Once I had picked the few I felt best suited for the position I would follow up with the use of references as these would be a good way of clarifying what is on the C.V as well as any questions asked in the interview. If I was still unsure and wanted further proof of their abilities a ‘psychometric test’ would be a good final indicator. With the collated information, I would be able to make a final decision based on the documentation provided. I don’t think the assessment center is suitable in this process as its mainly used for a ‘managerial’ position.
