Polymers are relatively large molecules which consists of chain of similiar momoner units which are chemically bonded.

Monomers are relatively smaller molecules that can form covalent bonds which other similar molecules and from polymers.

Polymers are converted to monomers by a reaction known as hydrolysis which usues water molecules for breakdown and an enzymatic catalyst.

Biological macromolecules like carbohydrates, fats, proteins are hydrolyzed in the digestive tract and these polymeric units are converted to monomers for digestion.
