Compose a maintenance plan for an information system for managing patient records and healthcare data. Attached is a stakeholder matrix to give an outline of the system. No actual programming is needed. This is for a fictitious Healthcare Information program. All that is needed would be a maintenance plan as described below for this fictitious program.
Part 6: Maintenance Plan
For this part of the project, you will need to create a maintenance plan that outlines the projected longevity and upkeep of the software. Identify the scope of maintenance, level of upkeep, duration of support, and the resource requirements necessary. Include discussion of the following:
Parameters: two to three pages (minimum), APA, 12-point font, double spaced

Market need analysis: Before developing a product, we need to see what is required by the different stakeholders involved in the process. So primary and secondary survey is very important to prevent marketing myopia. So, let assume currently the whole medical system is working on paper-based. So, for a customer he needs to have access to his previous medical data and currently it is in physical form. It creates problem like security, reliability, mobility and flexibility. For the health professional it is tiresome to file data and generating report. Also, for the doctors to prepare prescription, analyzing all the physical data is big problem. So, our proposal of an information system that will manage the data digitally seems efficient that will meet the need of the different stakeholders.
But a proper feedback and survey should be done for confirming the hypothesis.
Competitors: There might be already products similar to our offering in the market. so, it is important to do a SWOT analysis to know about the different scenarios. Also, the details of the prices, features and other details of the competitor’s product is important. The price should be a combination of cost-based or value-based pricing.
Constraints: The software needs to take care of security. How it handles error in input, validity of information is important. Also traditionally, the users might have used different form of input and so this system can change the whole workflow in regards to information entry, operations and delivery. The employees might not know how to operate and can lead to stakeholders trying to adapt to the system . Thus time wasted.
Recommendation: The software should be flexible for the customer i.e. he should be able to use it in any platform mobile or PC. The validation of the information should be taken care by proper authorization channels. Also the format of the data entry and display should be standard so that it is compatible with other applications and integrations that might happen in the future.
Proper training and user manual should be provided with the system to make the employees familiar with the system. Also the system should be flexible to meet the needs of different health services as there way of working might be slightly different. Customer executives should be ready to address any trouble of the users . Also the scalability should be looked upon .
