There are several different leadership styles, (democratic, autocratic, dictatorship, etc.). The question is

Assume I will use two leadership styles, democratic leadership style, and dictatorship leadership style in my company. The question is:

1) Define a democratic leadership style and dictatorship leadership style.

2) Identify and compare the pros and cons of those styles supported by citations and references;

3) Discuss how the styles you selected affect your area of program interest (e.g., marketing, finance, IT, Databases, etc.) and how they relate to and impact strategic leadership.

1. Democratic Leadership Style

• It is also known as participative leadership style. it implies compromise between the two extremes of autocratic and laissez fair style of leadership.
• Under this style, the supervisor acts according to the mutual consent and the decision reached after consulting the subordinates.
• Subordinates are encouraged to make suggestions and take initiative.
• It provides necessary motivation to the workers by ensuring their participation and acceptance of work methods.
• But this style of leadership may sometimes cause delay in decisions and leades to indiscipline.

Pros

1. This leadership style connects people to their work
2. It works to promote the free flow of ideas.
3. It encourages trust and respect throughout the team.
4. It emphasis on values and morality.
5. It takes an open and honest mind to be a democtatic leader.
6. This tyep of leader receive a more diverse set of ideas.

Cons

1. It requires extra time to implement a decision.
2. It is ineffective during crisis situations.
3. The emphasis of the leadership style can take a priority.
4. Democratic leaders must often deal with rejection.
5. It is very rare for a team to reach a consensus decision.
6. There is always an element of uncertainty when using the democratic leadership style.    

2. Dictatorial Leadership Style

• It focuses on the leader and ni one else.
• It is a style of leadership where there is always personal control over the decision making process for the team.
• A leader using this style may choose to receive feedback from their team, but any decision is theirs to make alone.  

Pros

1. It can reduce the impact of mistakes.
2. This style encourages short term productivity increases.
3. There is clarity within the chain of command in this leadership style.
4. It can produce consistent results.
5. This style makes decisions quickly.
6. There is direction provided for small groups.

Cons

1. There is mostly negative feedback.
2. It reduce the long term morale of the group.
3. The leadership style is dependent upon the skill of the leader.
4. There are more employees willing to leave the company.
5. There can still be worker rebellion.
6. This style discourages innovations.

   I choose democratic style. in marketing we need more ideas, more advice of expect. because there are more copetitors.

It is also democratic style. finance is the life blood of the business. the decision of the finance affect all the side of the organisation. it related to purchase, production, sales, office administration, marketing ect... we need advice of all of this section.

In this area dirctatorship is best. data collection and processing is more important if it is related to organisation.
