Answer #1

I believe death penalty is not ethical due to following reasons :

a. Every person has a right to live a peaceful life, even though they have conducted a crime they must be provided with an opportunity to change their behavior

b. Lifelong prison can be a more severe punishment for the criminals instead of capital punishment as it gives inflicting suffering while help them to think upon their mistake and make a change.

c. As punishment must make the wrongdoers understand what crime or mistake they have committed, which will also help to reduce the crime rate as giving the capital punishment does not only takes away the persons right to live but does not help to reduce crime rate in long run.

d. As per The Eighth Amendment suggest to prohibit the punishment which is unusual or cruel, like eye for eye in the legal theory instead the case must be thoroughly studied by the court, test all the witness non partially and decide upon the punishment which will be appropriate for the wrongdoer instead of giving the capital punishment.
