Have you ever been misinterpreted in an email, TM, or IM because the receiver could not see your facial expressions or hear your tone of voice? If so, describe what happened. Do you think the use of “emoticons” (smiley faces and the like) help reduce this communication confusion? This assignment should be at least 1/2 page in length.
Answer: - Technology can be a wonderful science to use but some time it can have its own disadvantages. Compared to old days, organizations and the world are growing fast because of the state of the art communication methods. Now a day’s one can communicate to any other person seating at any corner of the worlds within a fraction of second. But like all other things these communication channel has their own down side too.
There are several occasions when things have gone in different way personally when it was communicated through the email, Text message or Instant Message. Professionally speaking many a time it has happened especially on IM and TM when wanted to convey something to the supervisor and or peers – he took it personally and very different way.
I remember one of the instance, when one of my meetings I had schedule with one of my cross functional team and my supervisor had asked not to put anything on paper. To make the long story short, during that incident whatever I tried to explain lot of things over IM but all was taken in a wrong way and the tangent of the communication was went in totally different direction.
