It is not a good act ethically to select a job applicant based on the connections he has and how it can enhance the employer's business portfolio because this factor will refrain the employer from selecting the deserving candidate based on his education, skills and experience. With this, the employee with no connections but otherwise every capability to do the job will suffer. Also, the candidate with connections and no other capability can get the undue advantage of getting the job.
Though it will be more profitable and opportunity for business growth for employers to recruit candidates who can bring them business through their connections and thus from this point of view employers can defend their preference.
