The traits and characteristics of an effective team leader are one of the most important aspects of the corporate world. Sometimes, leaders need to further develop the capabilities they are weakest in. The various traits and characteristics that an effective team leader must have are as follows: time management, adaptability, communication, building relationship, development, motivation and etc. An effective team leader must have the good communication skills which would aid him or her to understand the significant factors necessary for the success of the organization and as well gives the leaders ability to listens to others. Good leaders typically have a keen understanding of relationships within his (or her) group members and talk to them on a personal level by hearing their concerns. This aid the team leader in building trust as well as would make the workers feel valued. The vision of the organization helps the group in having the perspective of cooperative values. Visionary leaders are effective at prominent a team toward achieving a common goal. These leaders promote organized learning, working with imagination, boldness creativity, insight, and the development of strong relationships within the team. Moreover, it is the role of the leader to share the vision of the organization about all solution to avoid get sidetracked or become bothered with insignificant problems.

Motivation is a very important characteristic of any leader. Motivated leaders are driven to achieve beyond expectations, their own, and everyone else’s. The motivational trait of an effective team leader brings the group employees together and inspires them to perform at a high level and achieve the goals of the group effectively and efficiently (Weiss, 2011). Apart from these, good communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, inspirational approach, as especially important traits of an effective team leader within the organization that increase surety of completion of the project at the given deadline. To complement the areas of strength, a wise leader assembles effective teams of experienced, goal-oriented, credentialed, specialized experience, positive attitude with a fearless, and highly credentialed within the group. Realistically, few executives possess all of the skills and abilities necessary to demonstrate total mastery of every requisite area within the group in order to build a powerful team that understands issues, create solutions, and to act on them to get effective results.

According to the scholarly article, “ The Leadership Challenge,” written by Lorri Freifeld, it states, “ To be credible in action, leaders must be clear about their beliefs and morale; they must know what they stand for ” (Freifeld, 2012). Even more, the decision making capability delegating, problem-solving capacity, planning, and quality of conflict management are also the quality of an effective project manager in the group.
