Some of the important steps are
needed for an organization to achieve CMMi level 3 –
To perform the gap analysis in the
specific process areas falls under CMMi for the specific level.
This helps in decision making at the later point in time.
To provide training to the
workforce to understand and learn the industry wide standards,
methods available, best practices and procedures to be incompliant
with the CMMi. It is more like process engineering to design and
create business specific processes.
Implementation of the above two
steps to understand the current state of the organization and this
would indicate how much to put effort to achieve the expected
outcome.
Formal appraisal to be done to
understand the current state of the CMMi through “SCAMPI B”. This
shows the successful achievement of the CMMi level 3.
This follows the previous step to
perform the appraisal for the next CMMi level through “SCAMPI
A”.
