CRT monitors:

• Cathode ray is those monitors that use cathode ray beam to and fro the screen.
• A high electronic beam is used to form an image on the fluorescent screen.
• These are types of monitors where resolution can be changed accordingly and is not fixed.
• The Maximum color range is supported in CRT and vibrant, bright colors are supported.
• They are heavy and costly and consume a great amount of electricity.

LCD monitors:

• Liquid crystal display uses the sheets made up of polarizing material and liquid embedded inside it.
• These have fixed resolution and provide good performance when operated on the native resolution and the images are quite sharp.
• They are light but expensive and consume less amount of electricity.
• An LCD screen cannot be viewed by the different angles whereas CRT displays perfectly when viewed by different angles.

AGP:

• The accelerated graphics port was the standard graphic card. It is replaced by the PCI Express.
• It is a high-speed point that helps to connect a video card to the computer system.
• It is used to assist 3D computer graphics.
• AGP uses the system memory along with its own memory to perform the operations and display the data.

PCI:

• These are those cards that use the PCI slots of the motherboard to connect with the computer.
• PCI access the memory that is available on the card to perform the operations.
• The operations are done serially one after the other.

• It takes the input from the CPU and displays the output to the monitor.
