Equity theory is the theory which state that employees are motivated if they get fair and just treatment from the side of their employer. When employees put their efforts and performance so they expect that they will get reward according to value of their work. this motivate them.

If i were a manager, i would apply this theory by being fair and honest with my employees.for example- I give task to my employees to complete a ad campaign which unique and original and then i said that best team's ad campaign will get free trip and $500 to each member of team.

Out of two Team A and B, team B wins the prize but after i find that Team B copied the idea of ad campaign from other companies so I being as fair give prize to Team A which put same effort but come up with original idea of ad campaign.

This will motivate all employees in both team that their manager is honest and have integrity for their words.
