Answer #1

a. 0.72 is the correct answer.

given
R = 26 cm
focal length of convex mirror, f = -R/2

= -26/2

= -13 cm

object distance, u = 5 cm
let v is the image distance.
now use, 1/u + 1/v = 1/f

1/v = 1/f - 1/u

1/v = 1/(-13) - 1/5

v = -3.61 cm

magnification, m = -v/u

= -(-3.61)/5

= 0.72
