A car can take a turn of radius 30.0 m with a speed of 20.0 m/s without skidding. At what speed can it take a turn of radius 60.0 m without skidding? Show work
Max speed that a car can have on a turn without skidding is given by:
V_max = sqrt (
*g*R)
Since
and g are constant, So speed of car is proportional to the square
root of radius of turn
V2/V1 = sqrt (R2/R1)
V2 = 20.0*sqrt (60.0/30.0)
V2 = 28.28 m/sec
