Answer #1

The reaction is: Cu+2 + Ni --------------> Cu + Ni+2

In the above redox reaction, the oxidation state of nickel is increased from 0 to +2 and the oxidation state of copper is decreased from +2 to 0

Name of the element oxidized : Nickel

Name of the element reduced : Copper

Formula of the oxidizing agent: Cu+2 (oxidizing agent means the metal which is reduced)

Formula of reducing agent : Ni (metal which is oxidized is a reducing agent)

Electrons are transferred from Nickel to Copper.
