Each March, the Current Population Survey (CPS) is expanded to
gather a wider variety of information than what is collected in the
monthly reports. Suppose in one March survey, we are interested in
participants whose highest level of education is a bachelor’s
degree and who are between the ages of 25 and 64. It turns out that
14,959 of the survey respondents fall into this category. Think of
them as a population.
