I personally feel that the online and social media should be blocked at the workplace, not monitored; I see that as an invasion of privacy. It can be a distraction in the workplace, and can ultimately lead to multiple unwanted things, or fraternization. Company's should just block the options to access these type of things. While the company is outside of the workplace I think their social media should be completely hands off, a company should not be able to access employees social media accounts and I suggest everyone has theirs set to as private as it can be.
Do you agree, why or why not? Can you find a way to agrue the points made above?
Explanation:
Yes, I agree with the above mentioned point that company should block social media on workplace systems. Social media interaction is too much time wasting, suppose every employee on an average spent 1 hour and if company have 500 employee than it would total 500 hour of company hour have been wasted in a day. Company should have not allowed social networking at work time to employee.
But it is not valid argument that company could not access social account of employee. Company at least able to see employee interaction on social media account as employee represent company and if employee is posting some inappropriate material it would hurt company's brand image and tarnish thier image. Company should not access the account of employee but must be able to check on thier activity.
