Many times you can encounter consumers who may be frustrated with you as a worker to the point that they stop seeing you, ask for a new worker, fire you or terminate services. Since consumers have the right to self-determination then you need to respect their ability to indicate if they want to stay involved in services and with whom. Challenges present themselves when you are working with a consumer and their family indicates a dissatisfaction with the services provided. What steps would you need to take to address these concerns with the family and the consumer?
There are times when family and consumer is not happy with the service of a worker, but its upto consumer and family if they want to keep the worker or not. However, worker should made sure that what ever job he gets he needs to full fill that with responsibility and make sure that it satisfy the consumer.
However, when situation arises when consumer is not satisfied and is angry a worker should remain calm and listen what the consumer is telling and give him a confidence that next time this will not happen. Even then he is not giving a second chance make him understand the situation which made the work delay or bad. Make them understand why and what happened and tell them will not repeat in future. These are the steps you can take to do to address these concerns with the family and the consumer.
