when we drive our car from home to work (assuming this is positive direction) and moving with constant velocity ,then acceleration is zero , and velocity is positive and when returning from work to home with same constant velocity it is in opposite of positive direction that is negative ,.
similarly walking forward with steady pace is positive velocity with zero acceleration and walking backward with same constant velocity with zero velocity is negative velocity
