Are verbal communication or nonverbal communication more serious when encountering problems in intercultural communication?

Communication is vital to survive in any culture. Verbal as well as non verbal communication has equal importance but there is more chance to misinterpret verbal communication if nonverbal communication is not in the right manner. So, on the first hand, it can easily conclude that non verbal communication are the most serious encounters in intercultural communication. Non verbal communication majorly plays 5 main role in our communication. They are:

1. Strengthen the message

2.Contradicts the message. In some cases it may convey the listener that the message is a lie

3. Substitute words

4. Compliment

5. Accent the message

In a direct communication, nonverbal communication is tool that what the listener take in account.
